The Recorder
The Recorder role starts at registration and finishes when the results have been validated and the prizes are allocated to the correct people.
You will be working when everyone else is in the bar.
Everyone will be watching everything you do.
Registration
Registration starts as soon as the competition is advertised. Pilots will pre-register online.
The amount of details required will depend on the competition (CAT1 or CAT2), it’s too complicated to go over here.
On the day of registration you will check off the pilots as they arrive. Make sure all the details are correct. you may have to check equipment too.
Ensure that the team leaders have given the team members and in the case of CAT1 what order they want to fly
Flying Order
Registration is complete. You will now need to enter all the pilots into the database/list.
The flying order is usually drawn by lots. This activity can get confusing as the pilots get excited about where they are to fly. Make sure that you capture the draw as it takes place. All the pilots will go to the bar. You need to update the database/list and create all the forms required by the judges and launch marshal.
The Competition
The competition has started, you record all the scores on your PC.
Print outs every round.
Uploading scores to the internet.
Checking scores as we go.
Finishing Up
The competition is over.
We check all the scores. Get it verified by the Chief Judge.
Assign pilots and teams to the prizes and give to the Meet Director.
Upload the final results to the CIVL website.
I like to make a recorders report and give it to the CIVL Steward.
